Pinewood Derby Time

I love the pinewood derby. It has been great for us the past couple years because Brock gets to go and spend some time with Uncle Kirk and make his car. That means that we {Russell and I} get to just come to the derby and cheer him on. This year our ward had I think 34 cars racing.

Russell was out of town the night of the race so we had to take a picture of the race results.

This was one of Brock's wins.

Out of the 34 cars Brock's came in 4th place.

He was a great racer.

It was a fun activity, they had popcorn and pop for refreshments.

We had a GREAT time.

Hattie's Winter Sport

Hattie's good friend Jackson called us up and

asked if Hattie would like to be on his Kindergarten Basketball Team.

She said yes. They told us that she would be the only girl....

so we asked if we could ask her friend Hailee to join the team as well.

They said Yes---so the basketball season began.

She was so excited.

She loved when it was basketball practice day.

Even better was when it was game day.

She loved being part of a team. However, there was a lot of dancing down the basketball court

{which brought a smile to all who were watching}

It was always a big cheer when she got the ball and

either dribbled, passed, or tried to shoot a basket.

She continues to ask me when she gets to play again.

Brock Turns 10

Brock was pretty excited about his birthday. We told him that he could choose what we did as a family. So he chose to go to Pizza Pie for dinner. We took our family, Grandma & Grandpa Anderson, Uncle Kirk and Jaden. He was in heaven with all the pizza he could eat--however when he discovered the dessert pizza it was even better!! Then we came home to have cake and ice cream and presents!!

Brock wanted a pair of heely's--he knew that I probably wouldn't get them for him. So he asked his Uncle Kirk..............and guess what the best present ever was??

Brinton

Brinton LOVES scouts. He enjoys the Tuesday night meetings. He absolutely loves the campouts. He has like 15 merit badges and is currently working on 2-3 more. This is a picture of him at the last Court of Honor. Brinton is also an awesome trumpet player.

This is his last concert.

He had a solo.

He was nervous, but did a fabulous job.

One reason he loves band is because it is one class he has with his cousin Alli.

Also many of his other friends are in the class with him

VALENTINE'S

This year Breanna made a Valentine Box....well I helped her a little. For Valentine's we gave the kids a little card and a little gift.

Valentine's morning Russell and I woke up to a note from the kids. They taped it to the microwave. It was awesome. We loved it!!

Russell and I enjoyed a dinner out.

We also enjoyed a week of sick kids 4 of the 6 kids got strep throat that week.

Nothing says love like sharing some germs :)

Some Randomness

Brock has been squinting alot around the house....so I got him an eye doctor appointment. He needed glasses. This is what he now looks like.For Fourth Grade they study Idaho History. So Brock had the chance to build a teepee. He had a great time painting and decorating his.
At school the kids had spirit week and this is Hattie faking an injury or two.

In Kindergarten they have a Skills Book. It goes over letter names and sounds, numbers, reading sight words, shapes, writing, etc. We have been working on this since the start of school and in early January Hattie finished hers. She was so excited. Then for about 3 weeks after she finished it she would use it to play school.

You've never seen a binki baby?? Neither had I until I won one at a silent auction. {It is a soft baby doll with a binki attached on one hand} I was going to give it away as a gift but one day Andrew was so tired and wouldn't go down for a nap, and his nap was MIA so I pulled it out of the drawer and gave it to him. Now he loves his Baby, he snuggles up to it to nap and go to bed.

Christmas 2010

I am so excited to blog about Christmas. Christmas was so much fun for our family. Each year when I love to put presents under the tree....however I do not like it when the kids start comparing that this kid has a bigger present or this kid has more presents. So the last couple years I have put different names, secret names on the presents. This year we had presents for Buddy the Elf, Clarrisse, Cindy Lou Who, Kevin McCallister, Rudolph, Papa Elf, Jovi, and Frosty the Snowman. It is always fun to have them try to figure out who is who before Christmas.

This year we decided since we had some extra space in our bonus room that we would have Christmas morning upstairs. It was the BEST idea ever. We had so much room for opening presents. We had all the presents upstairs and then when it was time for breakfast and lunch we just went down to the kitchen and it was nice and clean.

It took a long time but it was fun to see what everyone got.Russell got some matte (a drink he used to drink in Argentina on his mission)

Breakfast with both sets of Grandparents is always a treat on Christmas morning.

We had a wonderful Christmas holiday. We were able to remind our children about giving and especially about our Savior, Jesus Christ....the reason we celebrate Christmas.

We love our family and friends and are grateful for all we have.
