Family Pictures

Saturday we had our friend (Mary-[a big thanks to her]) meet us at my mom's house to take our family picture. Thanks to my sister-in-law who took some pictures there and they turned out great we decided to try it too. Russell is not a big endurer of family pictures so we told Mary that we needed a good family picture in the first five shots--of course I made him endure a few more than that but this first one is one of the first five (not to bad huh??) The kids did great (due to time downloading pictures I have chosen just to show you a few of the good ones--maybe one day I will show you a few of the silly ones too!!)

I may need the help of another friend (Julie) and her great photoshopping skills!! But overall they turned out great and I will be sending them off to the printer so I can update my wall!!

Guess I will go and give the boy a bath and unplog the toilet!

Sheep and more sheep

So this evening we went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Anderson. The kids were watching football and I was playing my mom a game of cards. My mom looked out the window and saw a sheep camp coming down the road very slowly. Then Brinton came in and said that it had pulled over to the side of the road in front of my mom and dad's house. Then we all started wondering if they were herding the sheep...next thing we know we looked out the window and saw all of these sheep. We figure there were approximately 300 sheep. So we all went out front on the porch and watched the sheep dogs herd the sheep past the house.
This is not something you see everyday. The other interesting things are 1. my grandpa and Russell's grandpa back in the day had sheep and 2. back in my day we used to have sheep. I remember waking up in the morning and my dad telling me that a lamb had been born. I also remember feeding the bum lamb --we made a place for them right out side the back door to help keep them warm and then we would get to feed them their milk bottles.
What a fun memory for us today!! It was pretty cool

I love COSTCO

Ok so I love Costco--I wanted to go to opening day in October but just couldn't make it work that day. So today being the rainy day that it is I could have stayed home and done laundry and cleaned all day---but instead I called up Jana and asked her to go to Pocatello with me. She agreed so after a couple of errands we left for Costco (on a short time limit because we had to be back when the kids got home from school) We shopped and then checked out--then we went to New York Burrito (one of my favorite lunch spots--sad we don't have one here in IF) for lunch, then came home for the kids. We actually saw the bus drop the kids off and beat them to the driveway!! The 2 best things I got today were new holiday Sunday dresses for the girls and Mango Peach Salsa YUMMY--oh and stretch tight, an outfit for Logan, some mint cookies and I also got a couple Christmas presents!! What a fun day--can't wait to make another trip!!

A trip down memory lane

Thanks to Heather this morning I thought I better blog a memory I have. And thanks to my sweet little Breanna this is my memory...

Once upon a time a long time ago.....It was a hot summer day and I was a little girl about the age of 6 I had a friend come over to play. We were having a great time, when all of a sudden we decided it would be a great idea to go to the corner store to buy some candy (if any one knows where my mom and dad live--it is a country road--people drive like 50-60 mph--and it is a little over a 1/2 mile to the corner store--no sidewalks) I am sure that we probably asked my mom if we could go and I am positive that she told us NO but somehow we decided to go to the store, even though she said no. One of us put on a pair of clippy-cloppy shoes and the other one was bare foot. We also somehow convince my little brother who would have been 4 1/2 or 5 to come with us. I remember that the road was so hot that my friend and I had to take turns wearing the shoes so that our feet wouldn't burn. We made it about 1/4 of a mile down the road and that is when I remember my mom driving up--very angry and swatting our butt with a stick as we got into the car. Actually--I do remember that the stick broke when she swatted my brother's butt and then I don't remember getting swatted. I don't remember what happened when I got home--I am sure that my friend had to go home and I had to help my mom do something. OH the days of being a little child and thinking that I could do anything I want!!

Thanks goes out to Breanna who at the football game asked me about 20 times if she could have a dollar to buy some chips--and the one who had an attitude while she was reading--the one who is grounded from friends today because she had such an attitude I had to ground her. Many times I look at her and see me--but I am glad.......she will grow up to be a great young woman and some day a great mom!!

1st Birthday Fun

And here are some pictures of his birthday!! We had a great day with him. The only glitch was that his Aunt bought him the same thing that his mom and dad did--so we had to go and find him something else. But we had a great celebration anyway!! It is great to be one!!

Drives, Pumpkins, & Halloween

A couple Sundays ago we decided to go up to Bone for a drive. I wanted to check out the updates the Stake has done on Camp Cumorah. I went to Girls Camp there when I was a young woman. The girls were hiking around and I got a couple pictures of them. Maybe they will go to Girls Camp there one day too!!


Then on Monday night we carved pumpkins. Everyone did a great job cleaning out their pumpkins and carving them. Even Logan got into the fun. He was crawling all around helping the kids. (it was weird to think back to last year when I was pregnant with Logan--we are so glad that he is part of our family)





I told Breanna to keep her seeds out so we could wash them and cook them. Everyone complained about eating pumpkin seeds and how gross they would be. I decided to cook them anyway. I washed them and cooked them--Everyone ate them and loved them. They wished I had cooked seeds from all of the pumpkins.


Then came Halloween day!! Hurray!! The kids had the day home from school. I had planned on doing something fun like go to a movie or something--but Hattie woke up not feeling so great so I took her to Redi-care--she had a double ear infection, tonsilitis, and sinus infection. Then we ran a couple errands. By the time I got home and we had lunch --the kids played with a couple friends and then it was time for dinner and get ready to go trick-or-treating. We visited Grandma and Grandpa Anderson, then we had dinner and the older kids went trick-or-treating. Logan and Hattie and I stayed home to hand out candy (Aunt Amy helped us too!)

Hattie was a black cat for her little playgroup party.
Also during the weeks before Halloween my niece wanted me to make her a beautiful dress to wear for Halloween. And I had to show it off--it turned out so great and she did look beautiful!!

With Halloween being birthday trapped at our house. I am glad to have that week over. And look forward to all of the Holiday Chaos!!
