Happy Birthday Russell!!

I have seen this Husband Tag on a couple other blogs and thought it would be fun to fill out. I didn't answer all the questions only the ones I wanted to!! So it is only appropriate that I fill it out on Russell's birthday!

What is his name? Russell Gordon Taylor

Nickname? Dad, some one signed to Squirrell on his birthday card from work, another one of his coworkers calls him Peanut Butter, and as a kid he was called Buzz

How long have you been married? 12 years

How long did you date? 5 weeks and then we were engaged.

How old is he? 34 today

Who proposed and how? We had spent some time at his mom and dad's house and they wanted to have a heart to heart with him--so they went into the puzzle room while I sat out in the kitchen and wondered what they were talking about (for what seemed to be 5 hours--it probably was only 45 minutes or so) They all came out with red eyes and kleenexes --then I really started wondering what they had been talking about. Then his mom said to me "You guys should go--you have a lot to talk about" Then I really worried about what they had talked about. We were in the old pickup truck and headed off. We talked about a few things on the way to Rexburg (I don't really remember what we were talking about) then when we got to about Rigby or a little past--Russell turned and looked at me and said "So what do you think? Want to get married??" I said, "Sure"

Who said I love you first? I am not really sure I think it was a mutual thing

Who kissed who first? Russell kissed me--he even asked me if it was ok for him to kiss me. (and a little preface--he had told me that he wasn't going to kiss me unless he knew we were going to get married--so when he did I knew--and background info--he kissed me a couple days before we were at his parents house for the talk)

Who asked who out first? We didn't have a lot of formal dates--just hung out together at his grandmas house

Who eats more sweets? We both love sweets but I would have to say that he eats more than me.

Who is taller? He is by an inch or so--He is 6 feet even

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? He does

Who is more stubborn? I am-- he is an easy going kind of guy

Who wears the pants? I think at different times and different situations we both wear the pants. I think we do a pretty good job of talking and thinking things over before we make any decisions.

What do you like to do together? We love to go out to eat. We cuddling up on the couch together to watch tv or a movie. We (for the most part) work great together around the house and in the yard. We enjoy spending time with our children.

What are some things he enjoys? He loves (did I say loves) to play tennis. He also enjoys playing basketball (he likes these things so much that he gets up at 5:30 almost every day so he can play one or the other) He also enjoys motorbike riding, hunting, golfing, and traveling.

What does he enjoy doing with the kids? He is game for most things!! He is often found on the floor giving the kids airplane rides with his feet, or in the yard playing football or basketball. He also enjoys an occasional nap as he listens to them read. He plays chess, sorry, and battleship with them. Sledding, motorbiking, fourwheeling, swimming. Coaching basketball, soccer, etc. There are too many things he does with the kids to name them all. He is a great dad!!

CRAZY HAIR DAY

So today is crazy hair day at the school. It should be fun!! Here is what I sent my kids looking like!!

More miscellaneous

Yesterday was Super Saturday!! It is always a fun day to look forward...Yummy food, good projects and visiting with friends. This year I was asked to do a project and this nativity is what I was in charge of. Thanks to my mom and dad who spent a few hours in the wood shop for me I was able to pull together 13 kits. They all turned out great--a few with their own personality but great just the same!!

On Wednesday of this last week Brinton had Pack Meeting. He and his friend did a puppet show...something about the Big Bad Pig and the little wolf and a ham and cheese casserole. It was pretty funny--Brinton was laughing most of the show--He also earned his Webelo Badge--Good Job Brinton.

Logan has been getting into many things this week--He loves to crawl in and out of the chairs and under the table that isn't too bad...

He also loves to pull out the coloring drawer and then color all over my drawers. Then he throws a royal fit when I take him out!! This day of coloring wasn't so bad. A few days later he pretty much gave that second drawer a new paint job--with crayons of course (took quite a bit of elbow grease to get it off)

He will be walking soon and then what will he get into??????????
Brock just finished up Flag Football. He had a great time. Now he has started Arena Football. I don't know if I love that my child is enjoying football--None the less Brock loves it and that is what is important!! He has made a couple interceptions and touchdowns.

Ok So we all make mistakes sometimes

So this is for Jackie. I wondered what her comment was about Jana turning 29 for the third time. I didn't realize that I had written "this year". So I just meant this year she was turning 29 for the third time--so that I didn't have to right out tell you that she was turning 31!!

And if it at all helps--I was hurrying to make a post in the morning so that maybe Jana would read it for her birthday--before I had taken a shower and before all of the preschool kids were coming to preschool. Then all of the sudden Logan was under my desk and had turned the power strip off. So I had to hurry and reboot the computer so that I could make the post before my morning craziness started.


Anyway--we had a crazy day after the morning mishaps--I taught preschool--Ran to Lowe's--Took Russell lunch--went to my moms to work on super saterday crafts (made 13 mangers for the craft I am teaching)--ran home to the kids--all the kids had a friend over until 5:30--made dinner--went to pack meeting--showered and put the kids to bed--and now instead of relaxing I am blogging--To bed I go, so I can rest up and do it all again tomorrow!!

Happy Birthday to You!!

I just want to wish my good friend Jana a Happy Birthday today. She is 29 for the third time this year. She is always there with a listening ear and a great idea for dinner. She is always willing to drop what she is doing and run errands with me. We have kids that are the same age so it is fun to have a couple of kids at her house to play and a couple at mine (so the messes are hopefully not as big) She is a great friend and truly a reason that I know we needed to live in this neighborhood--I know that my Heavenly Father knew that I needed a friend like her.

Gardens...are they worth it???

So today it is state wide teacher inservice so my children were home from school.

Our plan for the day was to let me excersice, get everyone ready, start the dishwasher, and help my mom and dad clean out their garden.

So after we got everything we could get done at our house --we packed up and went to Grandma & Grandpa Anderson's to work on cleaning out the garden.
((I didn't have my camera-so I didn't get to take any pictures of our day))

So first of all we walked in to the house and it smelled so strong of pickles- it almost pushed me out of the door as I tried to walk in. So we walked out the back door as quickly as we walked in.

Then we moved to the garden. The little trailer was hooked up to the four-wheeler and my dad, Brinton, Brock and Jaden filled it up with weeds and then took the weeds into the pasture for the cows. While Logan and I picked the pumpkins and pulled the vines. Hattie and Breanna were helping grandma. We took many trips to the pasture. About half way through my dad said, "When we are doing all the cleaning up it makes one wonder if planting a garden is worth it" Boy is that true. The easy part is planting and harvesting--the hard part is preparing the dirt, weeding, and cleaning up in the fall to be ready for the next season.

However, as hard of work as we did today--we picked about 25 big pumpkins, 35 jack-be-little pumpkins, a bucket of carrots, a bucket of green peppers, a bucket of potatoes, and took about 10 loads of weed to the pasture and there is still more to do but that will be another days adventures----The best part of the whole day for me as a mom was to watch my children with their grandparents--working together and having a fun day doing some good hard work!! Now to me that is a priceless moment.

The other priceless moment for the day was watching my 11 month old (after he had eaten his lunch) take an oreo cookie and break it apart (yes by himself) and eat all of the frosting out and leave the cookie for whoever would eat it. Pretty funny!!

Hattie's ouchy

Ok--so after Hattie finally is feeling better and is looking good--she had a little tumble--well not a tumble more a plow over. Breanna and Hattie were running away from a boy (good job girls) Sunday night at some friends house. WELL they came around the corner and Hattie was first and slowed down--Breanna was still coming full speed ahead and she ran into Hattie plowing her down. Leaving Hattie with a fat lip, a skinned up nose, and a scraped knee. (this picture is day three--so it is looking much better)
