And the baby's gender is....

A BOY
Here he is sucking his thumb!!
The wand was only on my belly for about 2 seconds when the technician said to me--
"do you want to know the sex"
I said.."of course"
and he announce the baby a boy.
(he is not shy so I will give you the proof!! Everytime the technician would move the wand around he would announce "yep its a boy he is showing his gender again" It was pretty funny)
So mine and Hattie's intuition was totally off!! I was for sure that the baby would be a girl. I only bought one girl thing--Guess someone who is having a girl will get it. I should have bought one of each color!!
Russell and I were having a discussion with the kids the other night. The boys were saying that they wanted a boy and the girls were saying they wanted a girl and Russell the good dad he is said, "I think it would be great to have a girl to even our family out, but I also think it would be great to have a baby boy so that Logan could have a little buddy to play with."
After he made that comment I started thinking...and as much as I wanted a girl, I decided that a boy would be good for Logan.
The ultrasound was only a few days off of my due date which makes the due date according to the ultrasound Aug 7th which is 2 or 3 days earlier that the doctors date. But hopefully the baby will come after July 24th and before August 1st!!
Now the name game begins (Brinton really wants Andrew) we will have to pull out the book and start searching. I hope it isn't as hard as it was with Logan!!

Brock's Special Day

Saturday was a special day. Brock chose to be baptized. (I can't believe that he is that old already!!) The baptism was at 1 pm so we had all morning to get a few things done--Brock asked me about every hour if it was time to go yet. It was a special day that we were able to celebrate with our family and some of our friends.

He was baptized and confirmed by his dad. Boy don't they look handsome.

A few more pictures...

At home after the baptism with his new scriptures. He has been waiting patiently to get his own set of scriptures--he really wanted orange but that wasn't an option so he got blue. He was already reading them this morning.
After the baptism we came back home with family and friends to have banana splits YUM!!

We are proud of Brock and his choices that he makes. He is a great friend and has a very happy personality. We love you Brock!!

Goodbye old----Hello new!!

So this morning my instructions were to clean out the van, take off the liscence plates, make sure we had the checkbook, (and a calculator), and meet Russell at his office at 9:30 ---Oh yeah, I was also supposed to be showered and have the children ready too!! I took a minute with our van and took one last picture. I have loved this van--we bought it when Brock was 4 months old and it has been great. I did try to break the sliding door one day when I drove into my garage while the door was open and it popped off--luckily it popped back in about as easily as it popped off. But over all it has been a great ride and we have loved it--HOWEVER with baby number 6 coming we just couldn't fit everyone in it and so we had to start looking for another vehicle.
Well we looked at older suburbans and newer suburbans--but wanted one with 9 seats in it. (so the front has a bench so that someone {little} can sit in the middle of the front.) We called and talked to many dealerships and only found about 4-9 seaters from Rexburg to IF. One guy from Taylor Chevrolet kept his eye out for us and last Thursday he called us about this Suburban--he sent us pictures and told us that we could check it out on Saturday. Well Saturday--it wasn't quite ready--so we would have to wait until Monday--Well we had a crazy busy week this week and weren't going to be able to make it to Rexburg--so he brought it down on Tuesday and we drove it--Wednesday we figured out the numbers and Today we brought it home!! I have yet to park it in the garage-- I don't want to scratch it --I will let Russell try to fit it in the garage tonight!! We are excited to have a car that will fit our family!!

The Power of One Dollar

So today I ran a couple errands. Breanna came with me. As we passed the parking lot of Petco there was a car out front that had some puppies for sale. Breanna said "Wouldn't it be great if those puppies were only one dollar? I would buy one." I sadly told her that they were probably more like three hundred dollars. Well we drove down the street a little further when Breanna said, "Wouldn't it be great if everything only cost one dollar. Then we could buy one of everything." I guess we have a lot to teach her about money--but on the other hand--wouldn't it be great if everything was one dollar!!!

Something New

So for the last two months or so I have been wanting new paint, new flooring---I don't know if it is a nesting problem--a lack of the sun shining OR WHAT?? Anyway, my brother came over to visit and I asked him what it would take to tile my kitchen backsplash. He told me measured and found some tile options and then two days later he came and tiled it for me (he is Jay the Tile Guy-so he is a professional) {Yes, Russell could have done it but it may have been awhile before he got to that project--so I just hired Jay:) }

Anyway here are some pictures of before and after. I LOVE IT!! I can't believe that I waited so long to do this it makes a huge difference in my kitchen!!

The Boy who was born on 03-02-01 Turned 8!!

Brock is 8!! On the Friday before his birthday he was able to invite some of his friends to go swimming with him to the Aquatic Center. Then they came back home for presents, cake (which I didn't get a picture of), and goofing around--which was probably the most fun!!

Then on his actual birthday we took him to Big Judd's. We took his presents with us and brought his grandma and grandpa, uncle and cousin with us. We had a great time visiting and eating!!

The waitress suggested for a party our size to get the Big Judd party pack which included 4 Big Judd's, 4 basket of fries, 4 pitchers of pop, and 12 ice cream cones. It sounded like a good deal and so we ordered it. Only when the fries came out we realized that we may have ordered too much food!! (on the way home we decided that in 8 years when Brock turns 16 we will go up there again and order the same amount of food and see that we probably didn't order enough!!)

Brock with his Big Judd!! He ate only a little less than 1/4 of it!!

And Birthday dessert cookie dough ice cream!!
I think that it was a great day for him and he looks forward to being baptized on March 21st!!
He is a sweet kid and we are lucky to have him in our family!!!
